CO63 LOA
-------------------------- JUN 1987 by Le6 Tro5ng Hie61u, VN Consulting Inc.,
62-65 Saunders St., Suite 1B, Rego Park, NY 11374.
Co63 Loa, capital of the kingdom of A6u La5c under King An Du7o7ng Vu7o7ng,
is located about 12 miles north of Ha2 No65i. Recent excavation uncovered
ancient arms and many bronze arrowheads. Three of the nine ramparts that
covered an area of more than two square miles are still visible. Co63 Loa
got its name from the shape of its ramparts, a series of concentric circles
enclosing a rectangular citadel. The five-mile outer wall, sixteen feet high
with forty-foot high watchtowers at certain strategic points, was reinforced
with bamboo hedges and surrounded by a deep moat. Co63 Loa was not only an
authentic, pre-Chinese Vie65t capital but also something of an architectural
marvel suggesting that A6u La5c had both large population and high degree of
social organization.
